I continue to love everything that has to do with acting. It has been a while since I posted on here last, but a few things have happened since. I did a few short films and I will be posting links on here. I am still waiting for a few copies of things I have done but I will get them eventually. One of the coolest things that happened is that with one of the shortfilms I did I received my first IMDb credit. I didn't know about that at all and one time I was being a bit jealous that one of my acting friends was on there but I was also happy for him and he asked everyone to check it out and like it. I certainly did and wrote back to him that I just did that and that he shouldn't forget about us.What I meant was: "Don't forget us when you are an all big actor..." but he understood it differently, went on IMDb and found me on there. That was so awesome, I can't even describe how cool that felt. :) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4340400/
I am still waiting for the copy of that shortfilm. I haven't even seen my own scene in there yet, but I am hoping I will get it eventually.
Then I did another shortfilm but sadly the guy in charge of the camera didn't tell us that the audio would be totally messed up. And so sadly you can't hear much so the director kind of did a story telling narrator to at least rescue the whole shoot a little bit.

There are 3 other shortfilms I did. One is still in the editing process where I played a lead role. I was a german woman, meeting a russian waitress and getting into an argument about what happened between Russians and germans in World War II. The director wants to point out how each culture experienced it and that it is time to let go and forgive. Once it is done and I have a copy, I will definitely post it. I am excited myself to see the final product. I had a great time at the shoot and had a lot of fun with the fellow actors and the director. :)
Then I was part of the 48hour Film Project San Diego. It was so cool. I was part of a team and it seemed like a really cool group. We met on friday night to put together a story and at around 7.00pm we found out our genre. Our genre was detective/ cop and I was so excited as I always wanted to play a detective. Sure enough I was one of the main characters. :) Saturday morning we met early and shot until the afternoon. I had a blast and enjoyed every minute of it. After the shoot the editing process began and so we actors went home since we were done with our work. After a couple of hours at home I received a call from a different team who asked if I could come over as in right now as one of their actors had canceled on them last minute and they needed a female actress to play the main characters girlfriend. I didn't know anything about the whole film except my scene and so the next few hours we shot that scene. It also was fun and I enjoyed meeting another group of people I had never met before. Here is the link to that one: However they use a lot of bad language in there!!! But you can check out just my scene. It starts at 2.47 and ends at 4.10 after that they really start swearing. :( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW6NP__zMtA
The story for that one is weird and strange and doesn't make that much sense when you watch it, but it was still fun to do my scene.
Next week they show all the shortfilms that were turned in on time, in the Ultrastar Theater in Mission Valley. I was so excited when I found out that I would be seen on the big screen and they also have a red carpet event beforehand. It was a dream come true.
Unfortunately this past week I hardly heard from my team at all and if I did it was just bits of pieces of that they had to change things on our film, that scenes were cut out and so on. Whenever I e-mailed or contacted someone they wouldn't reply and it was getting really weird. I just wanted to know what changes had been made after all I had invited a bunch of my friends and they had paid for the tickets and such. Well in the end and after pestering them I found out that they had cut me (and the other actors) out completely and filmed a whole new story. :( I was so disappointed and frustrated when I found that out. I mean all my friends were going because they wanted to see me and now this? The tickets weren't cheap either. I was just upset once again about the dishonesty from other people. I felt betrayed from the team because not telling us really what was going on sucked and I didn't like the fact that we were obviously not really considered part of the team otherwise they would have included us.
But on the otherhand it made me more determined than ever. Yes my dream was shattered and yes I am still disappointed but it also shows me how important it is to be honest and upfront with people and to be truly commited and stick to your word. I have always tried to be like that but that makes me want to do it even more.
The other film will be shown at the Theater on Thursday night but I won't be able to see that. Oh well. Disappointments won't stop me and I love every little success I've had in the past. :)

A little update...
Wow it's been forever since the last time I wrote on my acting blog. Not much has been happening but a few little things. I did a voice over for a singer and had so much fun doing that. You can hear me on his newest album (before one of his songs) as a female news anchor. As I said that was way fun and on January 22nd he is gonna give a concert and I will be part of that too. Life is exciting. :)
Also I was seen on a Christmas "Minute to Win it" episode in the audience. That was cool too. Here a little preview: http://www.nbc.com/minute-to-win-it/video/jump-shake/1263557/
The whole episode is on NBC.com if anyone wants to check it out. Besides that I am trying to work on my dream and enjoy life.

Little success just feels great...
So last week on Thursday I had my little webisode commercial shoot. It was great fun and I enjoyed being on a small set and just had fun with it. I was kind of a normal-person-food-critic and the whole shoot was kind of done like a talk-show type thing setting. It was great and the people in charge were all super cool and nice. But what can I say. I am in love with anything that has to do with acting. It is my passion and I am grateful for such cool opportunities. :D
Today I receive another e-mail from them saying that the producer really liked me and wants me to come back for an additional webisode shoot. How cool is that? I am so happy and excited. I mean who doesn't like to hear things like that? E-mails like that totally make my day. And besides all that is super fun I get to earn some money with it too. :) I am just happy and feel like jumping all over the place. Acting rocks and is sooooooooooooooo awesome. :D

Fun, Fun, Fun...
Yesterday I had so much fun during my acting class. We did a 5 people scene from "Friends" and it was just cool. I felt we worked really hard and even though coach was on our case nonstop it was totally great. I loved every minute of it because I felt we really accomplished something and had some little successes for ourselves. For example I played the role of Phoebe and it is very hard for me to be silly and a bit crazy around others. It is easy for me to do that around family and close friends but people I don't know that well make it more an obstacle for me. :O It is kind of weird how different we are around different people, right? Anyway we did the scene over and over again and in the end I was really getting more and more comfortable and was able to step out of my comfort zone a little bit. :) It felt great. :)
What's also crazy is, it really is hard to talk to people about my excitement and passion for acting who don't have anything to do with it or are not interested at all. There am I totally happy with things and my face lights up literally when I talk about it and there is not much interest at all or I get some serious reality-check. It is kind of sad because I want to share this happiness with others but it's sometimes impossible to make them see it how I see it and what joy it brings into my life. I can't even describe it but this is truly the person who I am and it helps me so much to enjoy life. I think we all need something that keeps us going and yes I do understand not everyone likes the same things but it just hurts me a bit when I want to share things with family and friends that are important to me and they don't really seem to care. :(
Oh well I did notice though (coming from Germany) how different germans and americans are. Americans are so much more open, interested and excited for others when it comes to going for a dream and that way much more understanding too. Maybe that's why I feel home here because I realize that more and more and have come to the conclusion that I truly belong here and that I am in some ways "American" by heart. :)

Welcome to my acting world...
Acting is my biggest passion and has always been a dream of mine. That's why I created this blog to keep everyone (who is interested) up to date with what's happening in my life. I just love it and every little success makes me happy. :)
I've added links to some of my monologues, a video audition and a student film "the obsessed fan" to my blog and there is more to come. :) I am still waiting for a copy of another student film I was in and here is also two links from the show "The singing bee" where I was in the audience. http://www.cmt.com/videos/the-singing-bee-352010/1633061/full-episode.jhtml ;

The latest project I have done was a voice over as a news anchor where I will be heard on a new music album. I am excited about that and can't wait to get a copy. :)
